I just finished Rich Woman, and love i! As soon as I was done, I handed it to my mom to read. Now I would like my daughter to read this but don't know how to go about it. She is 17, graduating HS in June then going off to college in Aug. She is going for either Psychology or a Juvielle Probation Officer. She is very intelligent and I have no doubts she will succeed in any endever she chooses.
My main concern is in her following the "traditional" format-go to school, get a degree, get a job (Just Over Broke), work until you retire, then live off your "small" retirement & pray it will last until you die. I know there is so much more out there but also know I will get the "teenage" response, "Do I have to???" I could list off reasons of why reading this would benefit her but I know it will go in one ear and out the other.
Let me also include, we are living the "traditional" format. My hubby is in the Navy & making a career out of it so we can have the retirement along with medical, only 6 more years to go. I feel like we are saying "Do as I say, Not as I do". I do sell Pampered Chef and we are constantly looking for a way to break out of the tradition but not enough for her to follow by example.
Any suggestions on how to confince her to read it....And any other books you would recommend for a 17 yr old teenage girl???
Thanks for any and all suggestions!!
