I used to love tv just like anyone else. But I've found that I truly love living without it (once you go thru withdrawl!). I'd rather spend $40-60 a month another way... surprisingly, you can keep up with pop culture fine without it. Also, I've rediscovered the joy of reading. We really are lucky to have such great libraries here in the U.S.
Here are a few I'm reading at the moment for my self-made MBA:
Never Eat Alone - a book about maximizing your social network, something many of us do naturally anyway (and more genuine than "networking")
Harvard Business Review on Entrepreneurship - looks at various entrepreneurial issues (a tad academic, but good)... personally speaking it might not directly apply but the more info and concepts I know, the better, right?
Innovation and entrepreneurship : practice and principles - similar as above... makes me feel more comfortable with business terms and concepts...reading a bit at a time each day
...and of course, Rich Woman...!
Can anyone recommend real estate investment books specifically?
