Hello! Well, I am scrambling for ideas and I really want to purchase that old building. I did some searching (soul and internet) ha ha! and I found a website called cyberbeg.com. I signed up for 6 months and put my plea out there. I don't know if that is the forum I am looking for, I actually felt a little sleazy signing up. I am a Marine Corps Veteran, and I have never relied on public assistance. I believe in hard work, and now I want to work smarter. I did find that there are small grants available from the city to help with renovating the building since it is in a historic area and it is very run down. I would still need a sizable loan from the bank to get the building up to par. Please - any advice on how to go about getting the cash to buy the building. I can not afford to pay a mortgage and pay for a construction loan (nor could I qualify for both) at the same time. I would be looking to move my retail store into the location as soon as one space is rehabed enough for the city to allow occupancy, thus saving rent that I currently pay. But for now, I really am moved to get that building while the real estate market is hurting and I can negotiate a good price. It's been on the market for a year now. I can see the building from my current retail location and I know it is meant to be - it just depends on me!
Thanks! :-) Tammy
